Mira Wszelaka – President of the Management Board
A historian who has worked for years as a news journalist, commentator and blogger. Associated with the socio-political Ronin Club and the Elections Control Movement.

 

FOUNDERS

Maciej Świrski – the founder and, for many years, the President of the Good Name Redoubt; with an extensive experience in management, has worked in a number of Polish and foreign companies from the new technologies sector. He currently performs the function of Deputy President of the Supervisory Board of the Polish Press Agency and Deputy President of the Polish National Foundation. A political blogger and a social activist. A historian by education.

Józef Orzeł – Doctor of Philosophy. In 1991, he was elected Member of Parliament representing the Centre Agreement party. He was a deputy editor-in-chief of “Tygodnik Solidarność” and “Express Wieczorny”. He deals with expert activities in the field of the promotion and management of projects in the field of information society and digital education. Deputy President of the “Miasta w Internecie (Cities on the Internet)” Association and President of the Coalition for the Development of Information Society”. A co-founder and head of the Ronin Club.

 

 

THE BOARD OF THE FOUNDATION

Professor Andrzej Nowak – a Professor at the Institute of History of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw. He specialises in political and intellectual history of Eastern Europe, relations between Poland and Russia and comparative studies on empires of the 19th and 20th centuries. He was a lecturer in the history of Poland and Russia, among others, at universities in the US (Columbia, Harvard, Rice), the United Kingdom (Cambridge, University College of London) and Brno (Masaryk University), Tokyo (Tokyo University), Dublin (University College of Dublin).

Jan Pietrzak – a creator and leader of two satirical cabarets: the student cabaret in Hybrydy (1960-67) and Pod Egidą (1967-?). An author of thousands of songs, monologues and columns expressing public moods and the reality of the last 50 years. A commentator of social and political adventures of a society breaking free from the communist regime.

Tadeusz Płużański – a journalist, historic journalist and political commentator. He specialises in the post-war history of Poland. For many years he has cooperated with the World Association of Home Army Soldiers. Since December 2012 he has been President of the Łączka Foundation. He is a son of Professor Tadeusz Płużański, a philosopher, during the German occupation a member of the Secret Polish Army and the Home Army, after 1945 a cursed soldier, cooperating closely with Cavalry Master Witold Pilecki, who for years was imprisoned in German and Stalinist torture prisons.

Marcin Wolski – a writer, journalist and satirist. A permanent columnist of “Gazeta Polska” and “Tygodnik Solidarność”. Since January 2013 a journalist of the weekly “Do Rzeczy”. A member of the Polish Writers’ Association and the Freedom of Speech Association. Since April 2016 the chief and a host of the “W tyle wizji” satirical programme broadcast in the TVP Info TV channel. In July 2016, Wolski became head of the TVP 2 TV channel.
